Quack’s Grinding Could not Damage Upper front two teeth
Heading of this post seems to be bizarre — i seem to be trying to sanctify what dental quacks are doing to our masses teeth. No, it is not the case. Yesterday i came across a rare case in which in spite of quack’s misadventures tooth did not suffer much damage — every patient is not that lucky.
Let’s see the dental photograph of this 32-year old man. You see he belongs to an endemic fluorosis area — his teeth are fluorosed. He says that at the age of 15years he went to a village quack who used some drills to remove the yellowness of his upper two front teeth. However, he has never felt any symptoms like pain, sensitivity etc in the front teeth.
I moved dental instrument over his front teeth. However, he did not feel anything. Well, this man seems to be lucky. While i am writing this i am reminded of another bounty of Nature —Enamel (outer layer of enamel) is the hardest dental tissue in humans.. No wonder after looking at this case!
